Some horseback riding experiences takes place in the heart of beautiful Red Rock Canyon National Conservatory and others around the Southern Nevada area, just a short 30 to 45 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, surrounded by mountains and desert. These pockets of land are home to over 100 head of horses, some which have been rescued for a life on the ranches, plus you may see wild burros still roaming the desert in Red Rock Canyon! Some properties in Red Rock Canyon and around southern Nevada were established as a ranches in the 1950's or earlier and most of all the rest of the land is owned by the Federal goverment with the BLM(Bureau of Land Managment) managing the land for many uses.
